Ubiquitin-protein ligases (E3s) are highly focused proteins that recognize target substrates and attach ubiquitin molecules to them in order to regulate a wide range of their cellular functions in eukaryotes.
E3DB contains a comprehensive collection of available E3 information, which covers the ubiquitination pathways, E3-specific protein features, E3-dependent functions and processes, and E3-related human diseases. E3DB provides such E3-related information through an interactive graphic interface.

A brief statistics

This release (v1.1) of E3DB contains 1271 entries of E3s, whose pathways include:

  • Target proteins: 783
  • E1 enzymes: 10
  • E2 enzymes: 49
  • DUB enzymes: 10
